Incident affecting Distance Matrix API, Roads API, Directions API, Routes API, Route Optimization API

Customers using services such as Directions, Distance Matrix, Roads, and Routes which explore the road network while constructing responses to API requests may observe significantly longer routes (or distances) than usual for a small but significant fraction of API calls.

Incident began at 2024-05-30 11:28 and ended at 2024-05-31 09:00 (all times are US/Pacific).

31 May 2024	09:00 PDT	The issue with Directions API, Distance Matrix API, Roads API, Route Optimization API, Routes API, Routes Preferred was fully resolved for all affected users as of Thursday, 2024-05-30 22:45 PDT US/Pacific. We thank you for your patience while we worked on resolving the issue.
30 May 2024	13:15 PDT	Summary: Customers using services such as Directions, Distance Matrix, Roads, and Routes which explore the road network while constructing responses to API requests may observe significantly longer routes (or distances) than usual for a small but significant fraction of API calls. Description: Mitigation work is still underway by our engineering team and is expected to complete by Friday, 2024-05-31 09:00 US/Pacific. Current data suggests that a small but significant fraction of API calls involving one arterial road in Italy are affected by this issue. We will provide more information by Friday, 2024-05-31 09:00 US/Pacific. Diagnosis: Longer routes (or distances) than usual are returned in API responses. Workaround: None at this time.
