Incident affecting Maps JavaScript API, Places API, Places API (New)

Photos of places took minutes to be returned by the API, affecting multiple GMP APIs to different degrees.

Incident began at 2025-11-13 10:27 and ended at 2025-11-13 11:57 (all times are US/Pacific).

Similar symptoms occurred at a much lower rate for web service API requests made to the Places API Photo endpoints. Note: This is an after-the-fact report for an already-mitigated incident. Symptoms: Request time-outs and HTTP 500 responses.
