Increased latency and error rates on Street View Static API; increased latency on Place Details API

Incident began at 2022-10-16 16:35 and ended at 2022-10-16 18:45 (all times are US/Pacific).

The issue with Street View Static API, Maps JavaScript API, and Place Details API has been resolved for all affected projects as of Sunday, 2022-10-16 18:25 US/Pacific.

Summary: Increased latency and error rates on Street View Static API; increased latency on Place Details API

Description: We are experiencing an issue with Google Maps Platform, Street View Static API, Maps JavaScript API (POI photos), and Place Details API beginning at Sunday, 2022-10-16 16:30 US/Pacific.

Our engineering team continues the investigation to mitigate the issue.

We will provide an update by Sunday, 2022-10-16 20:00 US/Pacific with current details.

Diagnosis: Increased latency and error rates when calling Street View Static API. Increased latency when calling Place Details API.

Workaround: None at this time.

Description: We are experiencing an issue with Google Maps Platform, Street View Static API, Maps JavaScript API (POI photos), beginning at Sunday, 2022-10-16 16:30 US/Pacific.
