Incident affecting Google SecOps

[Informational] Google SecOps customers may have experienced staleness with Entity Context Graph (ECG) "first seen" and "last seen" timestamps. Only “Domain”, “file hash” and “IP address” identifiers were impacted.

Incident began at 2026-01-15 00:00 and ended at 2026-02-17 12:58 (all times are US/Pacific).

The issue with Google SecOps has been resolved for all affected customers as of Tuesday, 2025-02-17 12:58 US/Pacific.

We apologize to all who are affected by the disruption.

Customer Symptoms

  • Any threat detection rules that used Entity Context Graph (ECG) “first seen” or “last seen” timestamps may not have found accurate recent matches.
  • Only “Domain”, “file hash” and “IP address” identifiers were impacted.
  • Any entities that were first seen before Jan 15th, their “first seen” timestamps were still accurate.
  • Displayed search results of “first seen” and “last seen” timestamps for entities may have been stale.

Workaround A workaround was not available.

We are experiencing an issue with Google SecOps, beginning on Thursday, 2026-01-15.

Mitigation work is ongoing and the mitigation is expected to complete by Friday, 2026-02-20.

The staleness with search and display results of “first seen” and “last seen” timestamps for entities is now resolved in asia-northeast1, asia-south1, europe-west3, europe-west6, northamerica-northeast2, southamerica-east1.

We will provide more information by Tuesday, 2026-02-17 14:00 US/Pacific with current details.
