Incident affecting Google Cloud SQL

Cloud SQL for MySQL is experiencing some issues with Systems Insights metrics.

Incident began at 2023-11-03 09:35 and ended at 2023-11-03 13:38 (all times are US/Pacific).

The issue which caused Cloud SQL for MySQL instances to intermittently miss System Insights metrics starting at 2023-10-31 10:53 AM US/Pacific is now fully resolved. Metrics data generated after 2023-11-03 12:15 PM US/Pacific should be reflected on the Cloud Console.

Summary: Cloud SQL for MySQL is experiencing some issues with Systems Insights metrics.

Description: Starting at 2023-10-31 10:53 AM US/Pacific, a subset of Cloud SQL for MySQL instances may intermittently be missing data for Systems Insights metrics. Instances in the following regions may be impacted:

  • asia-east1
  • asia-east2
  • asia-northeast2
  • asia-northeast3
  • asia-southeast1
  • asia-south2
  • europe-west1
  • europe-north1
  • europe-west3
  • europe-central2
  • northamerica-northeast1
  • us-west2
  • us-east1
  • us-west1
  • us-west4

After further impact analysis, we believe that Query Insights were not affected.

Mitigation work is currently in progress. There is no ETA for mitigation at this time.

We will provide more information by Friday, 2023-11-03 14:30 US/Pacific.

Diagnosis: The data shown on the instance’s Systems Insights tab in Cloud Console may be incomplete. For example, graphs showing metrics for InnoDB log fsyncs stats may be missing samples.

Workaround: None at this time.
