Incident affecting Google Compute Engine

We're investigating an issue with Google Compute Engine instance creation on newly created projects. Pre-existing projects are not affected. We will provide more information shortly.

Incident began at 2014-08-12 00:54 and ended at 2014-08-12 08:49 (all times are US/Pacific).

The problem with instance creation from newly created projects should be resolved as of 08:49 US/Pacific.

The source of the instance creation issue has been identified, and a fix was applied at 07:20 US/Pacific time. Projects created since that time are able to create instances. Some projects that were created between the start of the incident and 07:20 are still affected and we are working to restore functionality to those.
