Incident affecting Google Cloud SQL

Increased latency with Google Cloud SQL instances in us-central1 with connections from Google App Engine.

Incident began at 2018-10-23 14:49 and ended at 2018-10-23 17:35 (all times are US/Pacific).

The issue with increased latency to Google Cloud SQL instances in us-central1 from Google App Engine has been resolved for all affected projects as of 17:30 US/Pacific. We will conduct an internal investigation of this issue and make appropriate improvements to our systems to help prevent or minimize future recurrence.

Mitigation work is currently underway by our Engineering Team. Affected customers may experience increased latency with Google Cloud SQL instances in us-central1 with connections from Google App Engine. We've received a report of an issue with Google Cloud SQL as of Tuesday, 2018-10-23 14:36 US/Pacific. Affected customers may experience increased latency on Google Cloud SQL connections from App Engine instances in us-central1. Our Engineering Team is investigating possible causes. We will provide another status update by Tuesday, 2018-10-23 15:30 US/Pacific with current details.
